Major international business events organizer is now seeking a Business Leader to develop and expand its business-to-consumer events operations in Brazil.

Reporting to the Managing Director of Corporate Consumer Business Division. This is a start-up role. The successful candidate will build their own team to deliver the business strategy and financial objectives.

Candidate Profile

A highly self-motivated and commercially astute senior business professional, ideally with experience in media and events businesses. The ability to clearly demonstrate success in identifying, researching and developing new opportunities from original concept to delivery.

  • Previous experience at senior management level within events, exhibitions, conferences or media businesses (ideally with consumer B2C experience) and a good overall mix in finance, sales, marketing, operations and leadership;
  • Track record of being instrumental in a business development role having previously launched, acquired or created profitable assets and joint ventures;
  • The ability to establish, manage, inspire and develop teams along with the implementation of best practice processes to ensure high standards and efficient business methods.
  • Entrepreneurial and instinctive flair towards new business ideas with the ability to filter out real business opportunities and bring them to fruition;
  • Consumer centric thinker who can develop brand strategy and ensure it continues to meet and exceed consumer needs and expectations;
  • Superb visionary, communicator, team builder and people leader;
  • Excellent sales, finance and marketing management;
  • The ability to brief, conduct and understand in-depth market and consumer research to develop strong knowledge of consumer demographic, geo-demographic, behavior and needs alongside brand sales and marketing strategies;
  • Excellent negotiation skills at decision-maker level with associations, government, businesses and media owners;
  • Effective in business planning, sales and marketing communications planning, goal setting, financial management, evaluation and reporting;
  • To be flexible with the ability to juggle and combine commercial, creative and analytical strengths;
  • The ability to focus on the detail, ensuring that our products meet the needs of customers at every point of delivery.
